Integrating the fields of science, innovation and development, our partner
farms in Brazil and Colombia are an integral part of our research with
CoffeeMind. We are committed to developing new methods in the various
phases of growing coffee and support the farms in their sustainable
practices and social benefits for their family of coffee workers.

OUR METHODOLOGY
1) DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Vol.1’s research team studies the science behind the roasting process and its effect on taste and how that works to fulfill the preferences of different customer segments.
2) SENSORY SCIENCE MENTODOLOGY
We use two single origin beans from our partner farms and have adopted a methodology by which certain flavors are emphasized through the manipulation of Agtrons (color) and roast timings - our O Algorithm Chart.

Our algorithm is a result of the consumer data we have collected with our team of sensory scientists to determine what origin and roast profile works best with your consumer. Our roasts are curated to attract and cater to four consumer segments making it a unique multi consumer model.

THE TRADE OFF
FLAVOR MAPPING
The Client List coffee is harvested in our two partner farms, providing us with high-grade green beans, diligently selected by our buyers. We curated
three roast profiles for both the Brazil and Colombia beans, offering six unique sensory complexities.
Together with our members, we select the bean profile to compliment the
experience offering. Every profile has a corresponding palate which is hand roasted for each member.
QUALITY CONTROL
Our quality control best practices are a result of our extensive technical and behavioral research, highlighting essential critical control points. Manuals, tools and templates are provided to our Client List to ensure quality coffee for their customers consistently.
A calendar is also made available to book quality control assistance and
monitoring appointments with our team to support your team in the application of our procedures.
